The ”Better Life Time 2008” conference in Brussels on 21 November featured a presentation on Wel_hops. The conference was organized by EAHSA, European Association of Homes and Service for the Ageing, Dexia and Sodexa.
The main objective of the conference was to provide an international platform where public and private partners across the European Union could exchange best practices and innovative ideas on the theme of an ageing population.
During this conference, numerous participants presented their view of the challenges and the opportunities associated with demographic change.
160 participants, coming from France, Belgium, Holland, UK and Germany representing architects, research institutes, universities, housing care organizations, municipalities and investors shared experiences and best practices.
The Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden) presented the results of Wel_Hops project and in particular the recommendations and details of the best practices evaluated. The CEO and the Chairman of the Board at Micasa, one of the Swedish housing schemes featured through Wel_hops, participated in the discussion.
This conference has increased the interest in the Wel_hops project with many participants requesting further information both now and in the future as they build and renovate homes for older people.
